Cooking class with Walter Trupp
Join chef Walter Trupp as he hosts a cooking demonstration that you will long remember. Guests will gather at Walters’ cooking school before embarking on a tasting session like no other. Walter will work with the very best seasonal produce and quality ingredients as he cooks up a storm. A glass of wine is included (of course) as you enjoy your very own private cooking experience. The menu is yours to choose from one of the following options.
Spanish tapas
This session covers everything you need to know about creating authentic Spanish tapas. The menu includes stuffed dates with sobrasada, chorizo filled mushrooms, salt cod croquets with aioli, pimentos de pardon, olive tomato and calamari tapenade, chicken skewers and mussels in sherry. Complete the Spanish experience with churros (doughnuts). An absolute feast!
Oysters galore
Learn how to open oysters, how to properly taste and enjoy many varieties. Recipes include champagne oysters, red wine oysters with sour cream & watercress, deep fried oysters with sauce béarnaise and oyster shooters. Plus oysters in cherry tomato & basil salsa, oyster vinaigrette, poached oysters with spring onion & beetroot jelly plus a delightful oyster carpaccio.
Sweets from around the world
Walter brings his vast experience in a class dedicated to desserts from across the globe. Classics include crepes Suzette and Italian pannacotta with aged balsamic through to Spanish churros (doughnuts) with chocolate sauce and an amazing German red berry soup. There is also crème brûlée in three different flavours plus poppy seed soufflé with red wine compote. Finally Walter with present his awesome Belgian chocolate fondant for everyone to share and enjoy.
Wholegrain Masterclass
Grains and nuts have been a staple food for thousands of years and are some of the healthiest and best tasting foods on the planet. In this session you will learn about different types of grains and nuts, their journey through time and their health benefits. Recipes include millet and caramelised vegetable patties with sour cream relish, quinoa and ricotta patties, spelt roast with sun dried tomato sauce plus Walter’s awesome barley balls. Sweet treats include fluffy oat mousse and buckwheat waffles.
Detox
Learn about the health benefits of detox and eliminate your body’s toxins in a simple and delicious way. The diet is easy to follow, uses a great variety of foods and is designed to be taken into your workplace without any major changes to your daily routine. Learn how to create beautiful juices, snacks, lunches and easy meals. This session uses only healthy, fresh and organic foods and will give you a massive energy boost.
Costs
Cooking Class with Walter Trupp costs $1200.00 – this covers up to 12 guests.
Extra guests are $100.00 PP - Maximum 14
The event runs for approximately 2 1/2 hours.
All classes require pre-payment to secure the event.
This event is held in Prahran.
Note - This class operates on any day or evening (depending on availability).

Walter Trupp
Internationally renowned chef, Walter Trupp has worked at some of the most prestigious restaurants in Europe and Australia. His CV includes Gasthof Post in Austria, Michel Roux`s three Michelin stared Waterside Inn, before joining Marco Pierre White as executive head chef in his restaurant group. He moved to Melbourne and ran Langton’s Restaurant and Wine Bar for three years. Walter developed his skills as a cooking teacher focusing on food appreciation and home cooking at the Queen Victoria Market, William Angliss Short Courses, the CAE, food expos and TV appearances.
